If anybody has the original skins from motor city online, other than the ones we already have in the mod, please upload them using the upload system so we can review and possibly add them to the mod. Or... if you know your skins are unique please send them over.
Include the tin and folder name if possible.
example:
65stadec.zip
65statin.zip
Thank You!!

I have a ton of custom skins that I painted and also the layered templates that I made to paint them.
The templates do a good job of keeping the shading and details the same.
There are also a bunch for the unused cars like the 48 chevy and the regular ones not in the mod yet.
Are there any cars that you want more than others ?
Do you want the templates that I made ? If you do then what format ? I use Paint Shop Pro but I can also save them as Photoshop or Gimp files.
I'll dig some up and upload a few examples of custom skins tomorrow. |

I'd like to check out your shading & detail templates. The skins I've done I used Photoshop CS4 and kinda learned as I went along so some skins may look a bit better than others. I did all shading by eye. If you don't mind uploading a couple for me to check out that would be very good.
I'd like to have all the skins I can get my hands on but ones that aren't in the mod yet are prolly most important. Another thing is I woudn't be able to release skins that aren't in the mod without Durod permission, or would have to ask him to add them to the base mod otherwise we would get the Unknown car in the game.
I currently have a bunch of skins not in the mod and when I get everything done and together I plan to ask him to add them to the base mod, they're very good IMO so hopfully he don't mind adding them when the time comes.
I've added you to the submissions group so you can either up them direct here or you can email them to me, whichever you prefer. thanks Rusty!!

Ralph68

Hey Rusty,
I totaly love the 69 Olds with rFactor decal paint schemes and the 57 Nomad Marcony paint schemes!!!
Really killer paint job my friend. I'm going to get them in game and add screenshots to the skins found gallery asap.
Thanks very much for uploading them!!

Thanks ! I had fun making them.
I changed the name on some of the Marcony skins to say Motor City Collision And Detail.
I can upload those too. |

Hey Rusty I noticed a problem (I think) with backwards words and numbers on a bunch of your skins bud. Are they suppose to be backwards?
Olds 01
Olds 02
Olds 03

I can fix that easily.
The skins were made for the original MCO Olds model. That one was mapped that way.
It looks like somebody remapped the rFactor Olds.
I'll resend them.
I've been making some decal skins for the other cars too. |

Hey Rusty (anyone) can you help me out or point me in the direction I need.
I want to learn how to fix car lines, door lines, hood lines ect. and am wondering which tool to use and any tips you have for me.
I'm using adobe photoshop cs4 extended, I have a bunch of tutorials but I haven't come across how to do this. Any help is appreciated.

It helps if you have silver skins for the cars. I have them if you need them.
Some cars are simpler to fix than others.
If you have the silver skins then make sure they are the same size as the skin you are fixing.
Next, select all of the silver skin and then copy.
Next, open the skin you are fixing and click Paste As New Layer.
Next, click Paste As New Layer again.
Next, click one of the silver layers and change it from 100% Normal to about 30% Hard Light.
Next, click the other silver layer and change it from 100% Normal to about 30% Overlay.
Let me know if none of this makes sense. Layers are easy to work with.
Some skins need other layers or higher or lower %.
Some of the harder ones also need dark grey skins. I have these if you need them. Sometimes adding a 10% Normal layer of a dark grey skin helps.
Sometimes I also add a layer of about 3% Luminescent.
For the harder skins sometimes I have to use the dark grey skins for the Hard Light and Overlay layers.
Sometimes I also have to trade the places of some of the extra layers.
If none of this makes sense then I can easily walk people through it click by click.

I can also explain how to mask off the chrome and trim if people want to paint their own skins. That make it easier to paint. |

The silver skin you refer to, is this the "tin" file for mco skins? If so I have them.
Yep this make sence and I'll give it a try.
Thanks Rusty

Yep.
The silver ones are "tin" and the dark grey ones are "ting".
Have fun. |

Rusty, thats some very useful info you posted, thanks for that!
What I'm looking to do is what 2fast4u did with the hemi. fix body lines, door, hood ect. I tried what you suggested but it doesn't do what I'm looking to do. I attached his work and the original skin. This is what I want to do, clean up the cars lines.
I've been messing with the pen tool, I think I need to use it to do this.
I'm new at it so I been watching tut's. hopefully will get better at setting my points, adjusting them and such.
It's a pretty complicated tool. LOL
